...and fun was had by all

I travelled back home for my high school reunion on the weekend! Bit dubious about going at first...but SO glad I did. Everyone was genuinely happy to see other and catch up on the last 20 years (OMG - 20 years!!!), swap photos of their kids and reminisce about the good old days. It also doesn't hurt to be told you still look 18.....very sweet, but stretching the truth a wee bit! LOL! There's me (with the handbag) and a few of the girls, looking rather merry! Kind of a surprise family reunion too while home....my Gran turned 94 and a whole heap of rellies turned up for it, including cousins I haven't seen for years and even an uncle from the UK. But poor Gran ended up in hospital and completely missed the party we threw for her! A combination of a tummy bug and the extreme heat knocked her for six. A couple of days later, though, she was sitting up in bed...leopard print nightie and all...giving the nurses cheek. Isn't she gorgeous! Back to school yesterday! I love it....the kids are always so excited....I like the comfort of a routine (however hectic!)....and the start of all the after school activities. HAD to snap their brand new blindingly white shoes before the girls hopped on the bus. You just know they will never be the same way again.... Oh, and here's a layout for you - in my fave colour combo of the minute...purple, turquoise blue and lime green. Little Miss Mia is famous for her apple fettish - she has MANY more than one a day! Thanks for dropping by. Happy days! xxx

Bits and bobs

....a few random bits and bobs to share with you today.... I had a page published in this month's Scrapbooking Memories. The colours in the mag are pretty woeful - so washed out! So here's the real thing: Always a challenge to create with products someone else has picked out for you. SM sent me a Hot Off The Press Finished in a Flash Kit to work with - not really "me" but it all turned out in the end! The best bit - that my lovely MIL and FIL are getting five minutes of "fame"!!! Kim Archer has such cool, fun classes! Just finished her "Kids @ Play" one. This is Bessie the day before last year's dance Eistedfodd, going through the pain and tedium of having her hair in rags. How do you like the scrunched up Chux wipe on the page? LOL! I hope you've been over to MaDScraps to check out Mistra's closing down sale. Heaps of excellent buys to be made girls - I've put in my order. Check it out! I got my hair done today. Just a cut, still shoulder length but with more layers. The cool part was that the hairdresser showed me how to curl it with my straightening iron! Should have taken a picture to show you - it looked so good when he did it....will I be able to reproduce it at home myself? Probably not! Time to tuck three weary girls into bed....the trouble is convincing THEM they are weary, especially when it's still light outside! Wish me luck! Have a lovely evening. xxx

Happy Campers

Here's what we got up to this weekend........... ......and it was bliss! That's big coming from a non-camping person like myself! But isn't it beautiful! Everywhere I turned a photo awaited. The swimming was gorgeous - water temp was perfect, calm and still - even waterfalls to explore. And so peaceful! Hardly anyone else about. The previous two pics were taken at a heavenly spot that we had all to ourselves for the entire morning! This magical camping ground is Lemon Tree Flat in Kwiambal National Park, a little over an hours drive from our place. We'll be back for sure! I've a few layouts to share..........when you have heaps of pics to scrap - doubles rule!!! See you next time! xxx

Little Mia (far right) with her preschool pals and a special visitor.
Bethany, a few days before her 4th birthday in 2006.
Found a use for some photos I took of Kate and Beth's bedroom a few years back!
Hmmm.....I see a bit of a horizontalish, strippish kind of a theme happening...........time for a new technique perhaps? Oh yeah, for anyone who doesn't know.......I'm conducting an online class over at Scrapwitch tomorrow arvo at 2pm - lots of handcutting and flowers galore. If you scroll down to the next post you can follow the link to the details. Hope to see you there!
